Gautam was born in New Delhi, India. He came to the U.S. on a one-way ticket with $750 in his pocket and big investment dreams. Earning his stripes first with a Ph.D. in Finance at the age of 24, he built a successful career as an investment consultant. A decade later, he gave up the comfort of his career to follow his passion and started High Pointe Capital. Persevering as an entrepreneur, he grew High Pointe from $1 million to $1 billion in assets under management at its peak. He retired in 2022 to focus on his health and then started on a new path as a writer in 2023.
